Professor M. Lynne Markus studies emerging technologies and the development of industry standards. Her early research focused on data-sharing within the mortgage industry.
Recently, she has turned her attention radio frequency identification (RFID), a leading-edge technology with the potential to dramatically increase efficiency in the retail industry -- and threaten personal privacy. In this video, Prof. Markus talks about the challenges of standardization, the risks and benefits of RFID, and offers her thoughts on teaching information and process management to students at Bentley.
Prof. M. Lynne Markus is the John W. Poduska, Sr. Professor of Information and Process Management and Senior Editor, MIS Quarterly Theory and Review Department. Her current research focuses on data and systems integration and the development of vertical industry standards.
