Jean Bedard, PhD, Timothy B. Harbert Professor of Accountancy at Bentley, is interested in the way good auditors think. In this video, she discusses her research in the area of individual auditor decision making, the looming gap in accounting PhDs, and why studying accounting at Bentley may be the best start for a business career.  

Jean Bedard, PhD, Timothy B. Harbert Professor of Accountancy at Bentley and Visiting Professional Fellow, University of New South Wales, has been instrumental in the development of the Bentley PhD in Accountancy. She focuses her research and scholarship in various areas of audit quality. In one study, she compared auditing to medical diagnosis, investigating how a sharp auditor thinks in the process of diagnosing fraud.
