Understanding Japanese Society through Language and Culture - INT 298 (3 credits)

Professors Jane Tchaicha and Etsuko Takino
Bentley students travelled to Tokyo and Kyoto to improve their language skills and gain a deeper understanding of Japanese culture through active communication in real life situations. This two week, short-term program gave them the unique opportunity to experience both the old and new Japan during educational visits to historical sites including temples, shrines and traditional factories and cultural events such as Kabuki Theater and a tea ceremony. Students also experienced travel on the high-speed bullet train and stayed in a traditional Japanese style inn.
