Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language
(DELE, Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera)
Each year Bentley University will offer, a Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE). The DELE (www.diplomas.cervantes.es) is issued by the Instituto Cervantes (http://boston.cervantes.es/es/default.shtm), on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science. The institute is a worldwide nonprofit organization founded by the Spanish government in 1991 to promote Spanish language teaching and knowledge of the many and varied cultures and countries of the Spanish-speaking world. Instituto Cervantes is named after Miguel de Cervantes, one of the most important figures in Spanish literature, and one of the master craftsmen of the Spanish language. It is presently the largest Spanish teaching organization in the world and has an excellent reputation among Hispanists and Spanish teachers. DELE is an official qualification, certifying levels of competence and mastery of the Spanish language, and is the only certificate with permanent validity recognized in Spain for non-native Spanish speakers. This certification is internationally recognized and enjoys great prestige not only among public and private educational institutions and authorities, but also in the business world and chambers of commerce. They are ideal for furthering your career and gaining access to the business world of Spanish speaking countries. The diplomas are subdivided into six levels, each one corresponding to a certain proficiency level as described by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
The following is the list of levels offered by Bentley this fall, with corresponding prices. Registration fees for the examinations vary depending on the level
B1 Intermediate: $121
B2 High Intermediate - Advanced: $141
C1 High Advanced: $151
C2 Mastery-Superior: $164
This fall, the Department of Modern Languages at Bentley will be offering intermediate and advanced level exams.
Date of the first exam: Saturday, November 10, 2012
Application period: From September 3 to October 5, 2012
